This month's meeting presentation was on OpenLDAP. From Wikipedia: OpenLDAP Software is a free, open source implementation of the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) developed by the OpenLDAP Project.

Typical uses for OpenLDAP include single sign-on, company-wide addressbooks, inventory databases, and as a RADIUS server storage back-end.
