WHO is Cunninghamz?
I am Cunninghamz (Karl Merecido 22years old). I am yet to be someone... but hopefully my name will mean something to people in years to come.
Employer?
I am largely a web developer. PHP and MYSQL with a recent dive into AJAX. I am currently employed by Powell and Hinkle Engineering. I manage a php application I wrote called HOMER that interacts with a MYSQL database. My more basic function for the firm is to be as useful/valueable as possible. So I am actively learning CAD design in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. I have helped on projects all over the Jacksonville area.
What is HOMER?
HOMER is a recursive acronym that stands for HOmer Manages Engineering Records, which basically explains what he does. HOMER keeps track of time sheets, schedules, project information, and a little bit of the firm's accounting. Originally a side project during my down time from CAD work and energy calculations. I wrote HOMER in hopes to increase productivity by having a central location for the administrators and users to enter and find information they need. HOMER was created as a solution to the problem of being tied down to licensing and software that is inflexible for the demands of a changing business environment.
HOMER is hosted on a LINUX server called lovingly HOMER SERVER running UBUNTU 8.04... which is how I came to appreciate the power of LINUX and the freedom it presents.
Is this guy Educated?
I am currently attending the UNIVERSITY of NORTH FLORIDA in hopes to acquire a degree in engineering, with a focus on computer design. I am new to the concepts presented in the GNU manifesto and its relationship to LINUX. I have much to learn.
CURRENT PROJECTS:
- Homer 2.0: introducing HOMER to AJAX.
- cmsREX: (C.msrex M.anages S.ites R.eally EX.ellently) A content management system for "community" driven sites. examples: (Ins4nity.com and UFphiLamb)
- TRUEDDESIGNS: A company I've registered, but have yet to lift off the ground.
- ins4nity: multi-gaming clan and car club

- SERVER conversion: Converting servers from windows small business to a cluster of Linux boxes without any production disturbances. Progress: Researching.
